Who We Are and What We Do
The Friends of the Woodbridge Library is a 501 (c) (3) non -profit organization. The purpose of the Friends is to promote knowledge and usage of the resources and services of the Library; to foster close relations between the Library and the residents of the town, and to encourage donations, gifts, and bequests to the library while addressing the needs of the Library.
Membership starts at $10 for seniors and students and is open to all interested people, organizations, and businesses. Contributions provide items that would not otherwise be funded: books, programs, equipment, professional training for staff, activities for all ages from preschool story times to cooking demonstrations, movie nights, and statewide museum passes.
A signature achievement of the Friends is Bookstore Alley, a wonderful, cheerful, busy, and well-organized bookstore amply stocked with gently-used books donated by patrons. Prices are low: adult hardcovers and jigsaw puzzles are $2, paperbacks are three for $1, everything else is $1 including DVDs, CDs, and children’s hardcover books. Payment is taken at the Circulation Desk so you can shop anytime. Bookstore Alley is located on the Mezzanine level of the Library and is open during Library hours.

Donations
As of November 2020 we are unable to accept any donations. We hope to have a donation day in Spring 2021.
When donations can be accepted, we need clean books, DVDs, CDs, and jigsaw puzzles in good condition. We cannot accept any item that is damp, has mold, or has damage from smoking as these conditions can spread through our collection. Thank you!
Friends Newsletter and Annual Appeal
Each year, the Friends send an appeal asking town residents to renew their membership. We also send a newsletter to each resident’s home — view a recent letter here. The 2020 annual was sent in October 2020.
Volunteers
We have a small, but dedicated, crew of volunteers who run the bookstore and organize events. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact us: woodbridgectfriends@gmail.com.
